Welcome Message

Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the organizing committee of ICMPROI-2025, it is my esteemed pleasure to extend a warm welcome to you for the 4th International Conference on Medical Physics in Radiation Oncology and Imaging, to be held in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
I am delighted to announce that the “4th International Conference on Medical Physics in Radiation Oncology and Imaging (ICMPROI)-2025” is scheduled to take place at BRAC University Auditorium, Merul Badda, Dhaka, Bangladesh, from February 13th to 15th, 2025. This conference is proudly organized by the Bangladesh Medical Physics Society (BMPS).
Since the turn of the millennium, Bangladesh has witnessed significant strides in the field of Medical Physics, particularly in Radiation Oncology and Imaging, transitioning into a sustainable phase. However, there remains an imperative for further capacity building. This conference aims to cover a broad spectrum of topics in medical physics, thereby stimulating the continued advancement of this field in Bangladesh.
The attainment of professional certification is imperative for medical physicists working within hospital settings. I am pleased to inform you that the IMPCB (International Medical Physics Certification Board) examination will be conducted for the second time in the Asia region, specifically in Bangladesh, on March 14th and 15th, 2025.
Our scientific program boasts 10 keynote speeches from esteemed organizations such as the IAEA, AAPM, IOMP, AFOMP, EFOMP, MEFOMP, and DGMP, alongside 26 invited lectures from renowned professionals, enriching our discourse. Furthermore, numerous oral and poster sessions will showcase the diverse contributions of physicists, researchers, students, and other stakeholders.
In the realm of education, Bangladesh has partnered with prestigious international institutes from Germany, China, and India, alongside domestic collaborators, to uphold the highest standards in Medical Physics. Graduates from these programs are now integral members of radiotherapy departments in both public and private cancer hospitals across the nation.
BMPS is steadfast in its commitment to knowledge dissemination and professional development, hosting annual conferences, international events, and triennial webinars to foster collaboration and elevate the standard of medical physics practice.
The mandatory inclusion of medical physicists in cancer hospitals is a global imperative, as underscored by the legal frameworks of countries worldwide, including neighboring India. The current administration in Bangladesh is actively working towards the creation of positions within public hospitals to ensure the delivery of precise, safe, and high-quality treatment to millions of cancer patients nationwide.
I extend my sincerest gratitude to the Local Organizing Committee for their dedicated efforts in orchestrating this congress. And to you, esteemed participants, I offer my heartfelt appreciation for enriching the conference with your presence. May this event be a platform for the exchange of ideas, forging of new connections, and the cultivation of fruitful collaborations.

Wishing all of us a resounding success at the ICMPROI2025 conference.
With warm regards,
Prof. Dr. Hasin Anupama Azhari
